One of three sister pools built in the 1970's this facility fell into disrepair due to lack of funding from a depleted tax base. The City won approval for renovating the building in the early 1990's and hired IKM to design the new facility. To meet modern codes and replace non functional systems IKM's design called for gutting the entire interior and fitting with new. The pool itself was reconstructed with a new gunnite shell, stainless steel overflow gutter system and code complaint deck. The filtration system was also replaced and new locker rooms and support spaces were also provided. Although a Kalwall skylight was designed over the pool it was not implemented due to cost limitations.
