In September, 2004, Professor Darrell Irvine was named to Technology Review's TR100, the magazine's list of young innovators (under 35) who will change technology. For his new lab facility in MIT’s Department of Materials Science & Engineering and the Biological Engineering Division, Professor Irvine’s program included an Analytical Lab, a BL2 Tissue Culture Lab, and a Microscope/Laser Lab. IKM designed three spaces within 690 SF available in Main Group Building 8, creating a facility where, according to his website, “.…state of the art materials science and immunology are combined to address critical biological questions and medical challenges.”
