Mashpee Commons constructed four buildings which explore the variety of mixed use potential of commercial development: retail, restaurant, office, residential apartments and live/work structures. Building 16 is the most complex of the three with commercial retail frontages on both Steeple Street and the newly created Market Square Park. The primary retail tenant is a 5000 sf Pottery Barn along with a mix of local and regional stores. Two stories of apartments above the retail provide 24 residences. Building 17 across Steeple Street is 7000 sf of retail including a 4000 sf Ann Taylor store and office space above. Building 12A is a small addition to a former bank. It replaced the drive-up windows of the bank and created a new frontage for the park at Market Square. It contains a small cafe with outdoor seating and office space above. Building 29 is a series of 3 live/work units of approximately 1100 sf of ground floor workspace/retail each and a connecting apartment upstairs. The combination of the four buildings add much to the vitality of the neighborhood and introduce a new level of spatial complexity.
