Old English Square is a mixed use development located in a large parcel of land located half a mile from a commuter rail station that goes to downtown Boston. The new development will connect disparate elements of the community such as residential and industrial uses, a cemetery, and retail with a plan that creates new housing neighborhoods on land that has large areas of wetlands and flood zones on the property. The development will combine residential, commercial, and retail uses along with agricultural restoration of some areas in the form of orchards and horse stables with bridle paths. A variety of housing types will be provided including single family, townhouses, and three-story apartment flats organized along neighborhood streets at a density made possible by the inclusion of two parking structures within the apartment blocks.
