Eastern Village is a Traditional Neighborhood Development (TND) in Scarborough, Maine comprised of residences and open space; mixed-use convenience is added with the nearby Bessey Square development comprised of retail, office and townhouse development. Both properties are developed by KDA Development and the overall planning and site design is by Bill Dennis Town and Building Design

 

Imai Keller Moore is responsible for the architectural design and programming the mixes of uses at Bessey Square as well as the development of the townhouse type of residential units and the owner's private residence. As a TND, the emphasis is on the creation of walkable neighborhoods, street design, and the strategic placement of open space and recreational amenities (Eastern Village is located on the Eastern Trail, a regional recreation resource and path serving the Portland area).
