Imai Keller Moore designed a comprehensive renovation of four buildings that had remained essentially unchanged since the their construction in the 1970s. Kitchens and baths were gutted and rebuilt with new cabinets, appliances, and fixtures. New carpeting, flooring, lighting, and a new paint colors scheme create a more residential, less institutional feeling.

Stair cores were painted each a different color, to give individual identities to the buildings. Life safety was improved with the addition of a sprinkler and alarm system. Seven accessible units were created, and connected to the Commons by a new walkway.

IKM worked with a construction manager to organize the process before the start of the short 10-week summer construction schedule.
