The Providence Children’s Museum moved to a newly-renovated manufacturing building in the historic Jewelry District of Providence. Imai Keller Moore’s renovation includes the conversion of 15,000 square feet of interior space into exhibit areas, classrooms, a performance hall, a gift shop, and special function areas.
We also designed two striking new additions that animate the exterior of the building: an enclosed ramp connecting the two exhibit levels and a workshop for the fabrication of installations. The ramp creates an opportunity to combine small exhibits with primary circulation, and the workshop allows children to observe the construction of exhibit elements.
