Music Building

Washington Adventist University, Tacoma Park, MD

16,000 sf

2015

This new three-story building provides a new home for the University’s expanding Music Department, with a two-story rehearsal space as well as studios, classrooms, libraries, faculty and administrative offices, and practice rooms wrapped around a two-story rehearsal space.

The brick and glass curtain wall building is designed to open views into the building’s entrance lobby/student lounge, and announce a new, contemporary direction for the arts at WAU while harmonizing with the traditional Georgian architecture of the campus.

The building is designed for LEED Gold certification and features a high level of acoustical and environmental quality, including daylighting in all above-ground occupied spaces.
